Important Changes at St. George in Response to COVID-19

St. George is responding to the rapidly evolving initiatives to curtail the spread of the novel Coronavirus. As directed by our Archdiocese, in compliance with CDC and Presidential guidelines, and in Christian love:

  • All liturgical services will be served with only clergy, servers, and chanters, and limited to 10 persons.  All other faithful are to remain home taking comfort in the fact that services are being offered on their behalf.
  • All non-service related activities will be suspended until further notice.  Church School, Parish Council, Organization/Committee meetings and food sales/fundraisers will be postponed until further notice.
  • Lenten Lunches have been cancelled.

Let us not be distracted from our Lenten journey and the meaning of our Christian mission as a whole. As always, please feel free to reach out to any of our clergy for guidance.

Additionally, there are some wonderful resources at the website of the Archdiocese and on Ancient Faith Radio. There are also streaming services you can watch at the Cathedral in Charleston.  Service texts can be found at the LITURGICS section of the Archdiocesan website.

Be assured that we are all acting in Christian love by taking these measures.  May we answer the call as we plead for God’s strength and mercy.
