Serving Fresh Food to our Hungry Neighbors

On Monday, June 17th, the streets leading to our church were lined with people who were looking forward to receive fresh food from the Westmoreland County Food Bank.  Volunteers from our church and community formed an assembly line and distributed the fresh food and beverages to our grateful neighbors.

Additionally, we are a food pantry for the Food Bank and distribute canned/frozen food to those who qualify on the first Friday of every month.  We can always use volunteers anywhere from 8:00 am (to help unload the truck) until about 11:00 am.  Even if you can come for one hour to help unload the truck at 8:00, or if you can spend an hour filling the boxes, every little bit of help is most appreciated — you do not need to stay the entire time.  Our next distribution will be on Friday, July 5th, and we can really use extra help that day since during the summer months some of our regular volunteers are on vacation.
