“The Nativity Icon” performed by St. George Church School

The St. George Church School children put us all in the proper Christmas spirit on December 20th as they witnessed the glorious story of the Nativity of our Lord. In the play, “The Nativity Icon,” an enlarged version of the Nativity icon was broken into sections.  The older children read the accompanying Bible reference and narrative for each part of the story, while the younger ones recited a line related to their icon section, and formed the manger scene. The church hall was filled with the joyous voices of the children singing songs about our Lord who “became flesh and dwelt among us.” Christ is Born!  Glorify Him! There was a luncheon after the play and we all joined in fellowship.  We then had a visit by St. Nicholas who gave each child an icon of the church’s patron saint, Saint George.
